Kuwait may soon resume giving printed driving licenses to expatriates for a fee

The Ministry of Interior is considering issuing physical driving licenses to expats for a price. Although no formal decision has been made, the cost could range between 10 and 30 dinars. The suggested fee for physical ID licenses is designed to cover the costs of raw materials, equipment, and inks used in their creation.

According to the report, this is based on input from the General Traffic Department about expats who, upon leaving the nation by land, encounter problems with their digital driving permits in other Gulf and Arab countries. Traffic authorities in these nations frequently refuse to accept digital licenses from the “Kuwait Mobile ID” app, resulting in violations.

The source confirmed that digital licenses on the “Kuwait Mobile ID” app will continue to be acknowledged by traffic and rescue patrols in Kuwait.
