RBI Data Shows Net Liquidity Injection at ₹40,787.89 Crore


The Reserve Bank of India’s press release dated June 29, 2026 reported a net liquidity injection of ₹40,787.89 crore after combining outstanding operations with the operations listed for the day.

The release, numbered 2026-2027/557, gave money market and liquidity operation figures in ₹ crore, with rates shown in per cent. The data covered RBI operations under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility, Marginal Standing Facility and Standing Deposit Facility, along with reserve position details.

Money market volumes shown at zero

In the money markets section, the RBI reported 0.00 volume for the overnight segment. This included call money, triparty repo, market repo and repo in corporate bond.

The term segment also showed 0.00 volume. The entries listed under this segment were notice money, term money, triparty repo, market repo and repo in corporate bond. The weighted average rate and range were marked as not applicable or no transaction in these entries.

Operations listed by RBI

Under the section for today’s operations, the RBI listed Marginal Standing Facility entries dated June 27, 2026. One MSF entry of one-day tenor, maturing on June 28, 2026, had an amount of ₹414.00 crore at 5.50 per cent. A two-day entry maturing on June 29, 2026 showed ₹0.00 crore at 5.50 per cent.

The Standing Deposit Facility entries in the same section were also dated June 27, 2026. A one-day SDF entry maturing on June 28, 2026 stood at ₹1,23,550.00 crore at 5.00 per cent. A two-day entry maturing on June 29, 2026 stood at ₹345.00 crore at 5.00 per cent.

Based on these entries, the RBI reported net liquidity injected from today’s operations at minus ₹1,23,481.00 crore. In the RBI format, a positive figure denotes injection and a negative figure denotes absorption.

Outstanding operations

In outstanding operations, the RBI listed two variable rate repo operations. One operation dated June 25, 2026 had a four-day tenor, maturing on June 29, 2026, with an amount of ₹16,800.00 crore at 5.26 per cent. Another operation dated June 23, 2026 had a seven-day tenor, maturing on June 30, 2026, with an amount of ₹1,41,171.00 crore at 5.26 per cent.

The outstanding MSF section included a four-day entry dated June 25, 2026, maturing on June 29, 2026, with ₹282.00 crore at 5.50 per cent. Other MSF entries in that section were shown at ₹0.00 crore.

Outstanding SDF entries included ₹90.00 crore dated June 26, 2026 for two days, ₹2,318.00 crore dated June 26, 2026 for three days, ₹225.00 crore dated June 25, 2026 for three days, and ₹2,106.00 crore dated June 25, 2026 for four days. Each was shown at 5.00 per cent.

The release also reported Standing Liquidity Facility availed from the RBI at ₹10,754.89 crore. Net liquidity injected from outstanding operations was placed at ₹1,64,268.89 crore.

Reserve position details

For scheduled commercial banks, cash balances with the RBI as on June 27, 2026 were reported at ₹8,08,812.10 crore. The average daily cash reserve requirement for the fortnight ending June 30, 2026 was ₹8,01,069.00 crore.

The Government of India surplus cash balance reckoned for auction as on June 25, 2026 was shown at ₹16,800.00 crore. The RBI also reported net durable liquidity as on May 31, 2026 at ₹4,86,400.00 crore, marked as a surplus figure.

The RBI stated that net liquidity is calculated as repo plus MSF plus SLF, minus reverse repo and SDF. The press release was issued by Ajit Prasad, Deputy General Manager, Communications.
